About Us

Seniors on the Move was created because Candy enjoys helping others and wants to continue to contribute to her community. Her understanding of the needs of seniors, her ability to organize and her love of the arts makes helping older adults with their moves a perfect fit.

Candy is the mother of two adult daughters and has always been an active community volunteer. She is currently serving on a local hospital board and is a member of the Senior Care Professionals of the Midlands..

She served on the county governing body for twelve years and in the state legislature for three terms. She grew up in a family of artists and is an artist herself.

Candy runs her business like a well-oiled machine. Her team handles every move efficiently and professionally, paying the utmost attention to details. They are dedicated to making your move experience as stress free as possible, maybe even fun.

Seniors on the Move takes care of all the worrisome details. We are experts in locating resources and approaches that save money, reduce stress and manage your move so that the transition is as smooth as possible.

The Seniors on the Move team has extensive knowledge about costs, quality and the availability of local resources. We like to recycle materials to save you money and care for the environment. We carry liability insurance, are bonded and provide workers comp to all of our employees.

What can Seniors on the Move do to help me with my move?

We can help you decide what to take with you, find a mover, pack, unpack, organize your new home, and dispose of the items you leave behind.

Who pays the moving company?

Seniors on the Move will help you select a reputable moving company and schedule a walk-through in order for them to give you a cost estimate. You then contract with the movers and pay them at the completion of the move.

How much will it cost me to use the services of Seniors on the Move?

Each move is unique. At the time of the consultation, we will determine what needs to be done, and then we will be better able to answer this question. There are many factors that affect the fee such as the size of the house and the volume and type of belongings to be packed and unpacked.

My daughter/son will be available the week of the move and wants to help. How does this work, if I hire you?

We work as a team with you and your family members. Each situation is different, and we determine what we each can do to make the process work.

How do we start?

We are happy to provide you with a complimentary no-obligation consultation. If you decide to use our services, we will work with you on a timetable and provide you with a list of things to make the move a smooth process.

My mother lives in another state, and I am bringing her to South Carolina to be closer to me. Can you help?

Yes! We can help find a senior move manager in her area who will take care of the move activities including a floor plan for her new location. We will communicate with the move manager so that when the moving truck arrives here, we can unpack and arrange her new home according to the plan we receive.

Should I consider renting a storage unit for the things I cannot take with me?

We do not recommend this unless it is for a short period of time until the items can be taken by relatives or friends. Storing items just because you cannot bear to part with them, is wasting your money. If you are not using it now, it is better to pass it along to someone who can.

How do I decide what to take?

The space available in your new residence will be a factor, as well as your personal preferences and comfort. We will measure your furniture and then prepare a customized floor plan of your new residence. This will tell us what will fit. We always do our best to make your new residence feel comfortable and like home.

May I talk to someone who has used the services of Seniors on the Move?
